The Yoga You Need should not Hurt You
The Yoga You Need is not Lazy Yoga.
I am Helen Stutchbury. I'm a non-athlete who loves yoga and I use it to feel good every day. I don't live in pain. I have lots of energy all the time. I'm happy.
But I've injured my back, my knees and my feet. My shoulders were hunched over and I had chronic back, neck and shoulder pain by the time I was in my early thirties. Regular yoga helped, then it didn't. Injuries came up again. On my journey to becoming a yoga teacher and finding my way to this "less is soooo much more" philosophy, I was fortunate enough to meet a few genius teachers who taught me how to think about the body, the business, and the best way to live my life usefully. That, plus an insatiable willingness to learn, explore, practice and teach; the good luck to start working with senior citizens; a deep respect for the information I get from my own body, and I've learned to teach a minimalist practice with maximum benefit. You'll feel better too - just try.
